Shabbat Shalom
AND the wheat is ready!
Chag Sameach Shavuot !!!
At sunset, we slip into the final Sabbath of the 7/7’s, the #49/50, the day before Shavuot. Sunday will be Shavuot.
Finishing the count is always kind of bitter-sweet to me. I can’t exactly explain why, but it feels like closing a door and knowing I’m not going to be doing something I enjoy for a good while knowing that I will miss.
And probably became with Shavuot we have also closed the door on Israel’s very short beautiful lush green season for another year. But we have seen our promise of new life in another cycle on this land. Did you hear what I said? This short green season in Israel reflect man’s short time on earth and that there will be a future rebirth into an incorruptible body. When our seed (body) falls to the ground in its final sleep.
It’s still too hot to do much cooking in a house without a/c. So I fired up the grill outside and cooked until my fire had consumed all of the carbon. The results?
6 big juicy hamburger patties
1.5 pounds of chicken wings
1 lb of Lamb’s liver
Lamb Asada
I sliced up a portion of smoked salmon and fried the leftover salmon skins crispy (a great topping or just a snack).
I made Panamanian Ceviche (only with tuna)
There’s lots of hand-to-mouth fruit in the house
That ought to get us through the Sabbath and the Chag 😉 AND the rest of the week.Updated May 27, 2018, 6:58 PMPublished on May 25, 2018, 5:12 PM
