About

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.  Psalms 14:12

My name is Becca. Rivkah is the Hebrew form of Rebecca. In 2004, I chose “Rivkah” as part of my email address after hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit tell me that one day I would live in Israel. I made that choice as an act of faith; a constant reminder of His promise. Today, I am known as Rivkah.

My religious Journey

I was born to Pentecostal parents and grew up attending a small Pentecostal church until I was thirteen. Over the years, that little church went through several denominational shifts under the Pentecostal umbrella. In the 1970s, my parents became part of the Assemblies of God. As a single parent in the late 1980s, I left the Assemblies of God and began attending a Charismatic church. In 2003, I started fellowshipping at a Messianic Synagogue, and in 2004 I finally walked away from all organized, man-made religion.

I grew up in the Midwest United States. In 2003, while living in Northwest Arkansas, I clearly heard the voice of the Holy Spirit calling me to live in Israel. As a single mother of four children at the time, I had no idea how it would be possible — I only knew I believed what I had heard.

In 2004, I married my husband, whom I met on a Messianic dating site. As our relationship grew, he shared that he had previously made aliyah and planned to return to Israel one day. After our wedding, we lived in Central America for ten years. In 2014, we permanently relocated to Israel.

What This Website Is About

What’s it about?

Winter Sunset over Mount Tabor

There are two main reasons I felt led to create this website.

The first is practical: to provide a reliable point of contact from Israel for anyone seeking information about New Moon sightings and the Biblical Calendar as observed here in the land.

The second reason is much deeper and more personal. This site gives me a place to record and preserve my spiritual journey and journal for my children to read after I am gone. I have been called to a land far from my birth country, and my family could not follow. My heart’s desire is for them to feel connected to what I am doing here and to know, at the deepest level, what I believe.

Because this is what I am leaving my children, it is what I believe with all my heart. Therefore, I do not shrink from sharing it openly with anyone who visits. These are my convictions. Whether or not you are one of my children, I encourage you to study the Scriptures for yourself and prove all things.

I am not a teacher. I am simply an avid student of the Bible and the land of Israel. The Holy Spirit is my Teacher.

1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

I have no interest in building a ministry. Abba will send whom He chooses to send.

Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
