Hi Group:

I did finally locate the video of the area where I declared the new year for my household. Here it is, you can see it wasn’t a tiny patch.

Also, I’ve had several chats about the condition of this patch of barley. It does represent the earliest barley in that whole big field. There will be other sections of barley to ripen over the coming weeks. This section that you are seeing will be on the ground by the next new moon, in other words, it will have shattered or reseeded itself on the earth. This section will be completely ready by wave sheaf this lunar cycle

I wanted to address the question of how long this will last into the future.

Also, I am not of the opinion that in the long term scope of the history of the Torah all of the wave sheaves had to come from J’lem. The Torah plainly says that the firstfruits were an offering to Elohim and for food to the Levites. The Firstfruits were never commanded to come from the Levites, they were not to be landholders at all. Even though there are historical records proving that during the first century this was the process. If someone can come up with a biblical reference of this being commanded please PM me so I can change my stance on the subject. The first-century religious crowd was swallowed up with their errors and it why the Temple was destroyed in 70 CE; Elohim did not appreciate their representation of Him.

Deut 26: 1 And it shall be, when thou *art* come in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee *for* an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein; 2 That ***thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt put *it* in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name there. 3 And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days***, and say unto him, I profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am come unto the country which the LORD sware unto our fathers for to give us. 4 And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God. 5 And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A Syrian ready to perish *was* my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous: 6 And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage: 7 And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression: 8 And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders: 9 And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, *even* a land that floweth with milk and honey. 10 And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God, and worship before the LORD thy God: 11 And thou shalt rejoice in every good *thing* which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that *is* among you.

I mentioned all of this to say the following:

I have in the past wrestled with the transport of the barley to J’lem and the tricky timing for the greater harvest of barley as it ripens when all of the farmers were off in J’lem keeping the week of Unleavened. I simply could not see how part of the general harvest needed for food and needed to fill in the following year’s unleavened up until wave sheaf was not being lost when the people were obeying the command to go up to J’lem. I believe the model I/we have been given of this earliest omer answers that question.

In this year’s model, there will be plenty of time for the people to travel to J’lem in the second week of this lunar cycle, keep a week of unleavened in J’lem for one week and return to their fields at the end of the third week. As reported by other inspectors the lions share, or the majority of the harvest will ripen in the next lunar cycle, but the first of this harvest in the video will be laying on the earth. And I want to mention again the story of Ruth clearly proves a harvest happened in a single field over a period of time and not in one day alone.

One final point. This specific field did not need to be cut on the day that I took the grains. If it was my field on my land I would have been watching the grains closely for a harder dough stage before the majority of the grains became mature enough to drop. In my opinion, because it had rained the night before this field could have done a few more days before taking the firstfruits was necessary.

When I saw the Elohim had given me exactly what I asked for and even a greater quantity I literally said out loud; “this is it, I don’t need to look any further”. At that moment I knew my work was done and I’d be heading home to Nothern Israel so I’m thankful I had the presence of mind to bring a cutting from the area.

I hope that answers the way I understand the omer. Send me further questions in my PM and I’ll address them.

**Edited:** I had this comment and will be happy to address it here as well: “Deu 16:9 “Count seven weeks for yourself. Begin to count seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the grain.

Lev 23:15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: Lev 23:16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. If the Barley was cut before the people went to Jerusalem for Passover, the count of 7 Sabbaths would have to begin before Passover. So the count would be off. And, since the barley was to be waved on the morrow after the Sabbath it would have been cut either Saturday evening or early Sunday morning. (Believing Messiah rose on Saturday night this would be that fulfilled)”

**As I promised this person I did revisit these scriptures and I did.**

Yes, if we are supposed to count from the cutting of our firstfruits from each field across the land of Israel there would be no unity and our count would be off.

Neh 10:35 And to bring the **firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, unto the house of the LORD: 36 Also the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as *it is *written in the law, and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, unto the priests that minister in the house of our God: 37 And *that* we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.**

Nu 18:12 All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the LORD, them have I given thee 13 *And* whatsoever is first ripe in the land, which they shall bring unto the LORD, shall be thine; every one that is clean in thine house shall eat *of* it.

First, there was more to the calendar than just barley and wheat, which are the first 2 categories of firstfruits that we are the most aware of. The acceptable firstfruits were found in Deut 8:8

Deut 8:8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; 9 A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any *thing* in it; a land whose stones *are* iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.

My understanding is that a **firstfruits** **offering** belongs to the Temple and Elohim. The **harvest** belongs to the people for food. I believe the Hebrew uses very specific words. We are not to delay our **firstfruits** which just like a ‘**firstborn son**’. The firstfruits had the first place position like the firstborn son. We may have other sons but there will only be one in the firstborn position. We will have a harvest of grains but there will only be one firstfruits offering at the beginning of, the head, or the reysheet of the harvest.
