Hi guys, this is a report on the new moon sighting here from Poriya Ilit. I was able to see the moon at 17 hours and 8 minutes with binoculars only. Literally, it was there and gone within a matter of 2 minutes. By the time I could get my binoculars down and look at the time on the phone and bring my binoculars back up after noting the time the moon was gone. The same has been true of Mercury, I saw Mercury briefly through binoculars and it disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared. From Poriya Ilit there was no new moon sighting.
