https://www.israelite-samaritans.com/religion/calendar/I have to say I was disappointed with the Pesach practice sacrifice.
I thought it would be more practiced and more orderly. It was anything but.
Pouring the mock blood on the corner of the altar was not a practiced event.
It was shocking to me to see the kohenim holding hands and dancing/swaying to the singers playing the electric keyboard and clarinet during the actual death of the goat.
I simply could not stay. I was horrified that the symbol of the Messiahâs death was handled so lightly. Even if it was only a goat to them it was a life that was spilling its blood. They didnât connect that sin has a cost.
1 Samuel 15: 22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
I had hoped to see scripture unfold in front of me. What I saw was unorganized and unsure. The whole âpartyâ seemed to be more for the victory of being inside of the temple compound than a true rehearsal.
Case in point, when the Muslim call to prayer happened the rabbi that was speaking started to cantor a song as well in the PA system, everyone thought it was very funny.
I hardly think what I saw represented the seriousness of the work of the temple. Sad. I learned nothing more than how much they need their Messiah.
I want to thank those who offered to shoulder the cost of the Samaritan Passover. I want to do some investigating before I commit. I want to make sure it is a serious representation of their Pesach sacrifice.
Iâm sure you will see obvious errors in the Samaritan doctrine in this linked article :Updated Mar 28, 2018, 8:51 AM
