I know this group is about sighting the New Moon in Israel, barley and wheat and that’s what this post is about in a roundabout way.
While I was out watching for the New Moon last night to bring the report to you, we, Israel were under attack. No, rockets were not falling around me and landing at my feet. Nonetheless, you can not live here for any length of time without feeling connected to the whole nation as a group of people. We are just too small in size not to have a sense of belonging to a greater whole. It affected me to agknowledge that our citizens spent their whole sabbath running to bomb shelters. It affected me to hear the constant blairing of the red alert from my smart phone.
I know that Israel’s enemies are allowed to afflict her because their relationship is out of order with ××××, I know. But I also feel and see the individual people that the nation makes up. Too often when we talk about why these things happen we just say or well the nation is wicked. Yes, it is. But there are people here who are good people, but lost. They are sincerely trying to keep the Sinai covenant in order to please Elohim.
If you love Israel and appreciate the reports of the New Moon coming out of Israel, pray for the peace of Israel. We know how peace will come. It will come when the people recognize their Messiah.
Something I haven’t mentioned before is that many of the fields that were used to determine the barley to be aviv this year have been burned by Israel’s enemy in Gaza. As well, when I came by the field with the wild emmer wheat that was found this year (for Sahvuot), it too had been burned. I honestly don’t know what this means to next year’s inspections. I suppose it will depend on how hot the fires were as to wheather or not the grains were consumed. Yes, I know Elohim will continue to give His seasons to us.Updated Jul 16, 2018, 8:29 AM
