We are in the process of changing vehicles. It has become a necessity for my husband to have a taller vehicle. He lives with Cipro damage that has eaten the cushion between the vertebrae of the spine and neck, he is in constant pain.
The car that we have now is very low to the ground and with his physical limitations, he can hardly get in or get out of the little Chevy Spark. It also has very poor shock or suspension (?) that keeps the road jarring his body/spine.
I’ve located a Fiat Qubo that we took out today for a drive, it’s just his height for getting out of the vehicle without pain. I know the owner of the vehicle and he has all of his maintenance records of the Fiat. I know this person so well and I trust him, he has become such a good friend to my husband and I. If we’re in a pinch he comes in a moment.
The list price on the car is 22,000-26000 NIS and he’s offered it to us at 12,000 NIS. He’s called on insurance quotes for on the vehicle for us and he also committed to helping me navigate the world of mechanics when the vehicle needs something. He’s truly a good person.
12,000 NIS is $3,482.76, not much but we live at the limits of our budget, in our current location the landlord raised our rent $433 a month. This took slack out of our budget; which was fine until we needed to change cars.
In getting rid of the Chevy we will gain $650.41 a month to our budget and have a little slack in the budget again.
