What was on the table at the Passover in Egypt?
Here’s a thought for you to process through.
We’ve been concerned with things like anemones, Jeremiah 8 birds, oats, etc, etc. Asking to know the time of their appearing in Israel.
Yes, we’ve been looking at the barley and the lamb…..BUT there was another required element on the table that is only available in a very very short window of time on this land in Israel.
Bitter herb. We had to have a bitter herb. Any calendar that DOES NOT include bitter herb from the earth here in Israel is an incorrect calendar…..there was not hydroponically grown bitter herbs when the ancients observed their calendar.
We have plenty of bitter herbs, in fact, many of our wild plants/green herbs are bitter. To name three: Wild mustard (maybe the forerunner to horseradish that’s used today?), wild lettuce, and wild arugula. But the window is very small, an incorrect calendar will have no bitter herbs to be eaten with the timing of the Passover meal.Updated Feb 19, 2020, 11:15 AM
