Crowd sourcing, please answer with scripture references.

Where are we told **in the bible** that the harvest for the barley season is seven weeks or limited to seven weeks?

I have believed this because I was taught this. I fear this has been another tradition that I have unknowingly picked up.

Again, **scripture references please.**Updated Mar 22, 2020, 6:05 PM

Please, this is JUST an observation, nothing more, nothing less.

It appears the Yoel HaLevi and Devorah Gordon have changed from a field of indivisible barley grains (their aviv) + new moon sliver = the first month of the biblical new year.

I’m reading now that Yoel is saying: “There is every reason to believe there will be **entire fields of harvestable barley before the date for the waiving of the ommer.” **

And from Devorah; “**harvestable barley by Yom HaNafat HaOmer**”

Now Yoel’s equation is reading: New moon sliver + a field of their aviv barley by wave sheaf = the first month of the biblical new year.

Now Devorah’s equation is reading; New moon sliver + enough of their aviv barley to feed a small nation by wave sheaf = the first month of the biblical new year.

According to the old equation of a field of aviv barley** **+** **the new moon they would not have been able to start the year at the sighting of the new moon on the 25th or 26th of March, but would have needed to add a 14th month. According to Devorah’s new equation, she still may not have enough to start the new year by their wave sheaf date…..enough to feed a small nation (who would know how to calculation this? what are the parameters? If you know tell me.) If I’m wrong on this summation send me a PM.

With prayer and time we may all come to the same point.

It takes work, literally work, to prove all things. I’m willing to do that work. In this season before the barley disappears, I hope to prove what condition the wild barley may be harvested in with a hand sickle + without loosing grains this should = the ‘green ear’ condition stated in the bible…..thus my fascination of ‘the violence of the sickle on the barley grains’Updated Mar 22, 2020, 1:39 PM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSr_4563AIYOne more video. I don’t agree with the theology that is given but it’s a good look at the old harvesting process. Also, the wheat species in the video is modern and not ancient, I can tell by the appearance of the very mature grains and dry plants. The emmer-wheat is the same as the barley, it shatters when it’s fully mature and dry.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP8pA0v6QFEIf you are interested in a look at what the middle east may have been like a few thousand years ago you will be interested in this video. This is s documentary

Things to pay attention to:

The way they harvested wheat

The way they laid the harvested wheat in bundles in the field

The way they thresh and winnow the wheat

The fact that they have long periods with only grains and dairies (the exact way it would have been here)

What a grazing ground looks like (very similar to here)

The rock corrals for the flocks (are still used here)

What is different? The snow, the extreme cold, and the elevation….but the life style would be the same….honestly I believe even down to the yurts/tents…..Corners on tents make no sense with the winds that we have in the middle east….but that part isn’t important, the life style is

This will help you step away from a modern existence back into a more primitive times…..harvesting and shepherding were hard work. So hard you would not have wanted to waste a single grain of wheat or a drop of milk.

Question: What did Abram serve the angels? Do you see a pattern in the video? I did. Unleavened bread, butter, milk, and a fatten calf

Please keep Jeanene Miller in your prayers at the passing of her son. Hug her tightly in your prayers. We love you, Jeanene, and we are praying for you with sincere hearts that feel your pain. May you find peace even in your untimely loss.

We have this great hope! That what will be sown in death will be resurrected, just like the emmer-wheat I planted in the 7th month and has now germinated from its long sleep.

All of these understandings are given to us to comfort us. As a community of Believers, we have seen a lot of seeds go to their death sleep in the long dry brown season of death. But there’s another eternal green ears season coming when what was sown in death will be raised in life.

In that eternal green season that will never away again fade, the wheat seed of the word of G-d inside of us will cause germination, that is, resurrection, of our incorruptible new bodies and when we waked up and see Yeshua we will be like Him.

1 Cor 15:35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, **thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat**, or of some other grain: 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.Updated Mar 21, 2020, 5:10 PM

In this group I post the photos of my monthly new moon watches.

I share annual information about the wild barley’s development in Israel by photo and antidotal reporting. I look for green grains in the medium (worm) dough stage, experience tells me it will cure and make an acceptable offering.

I also share information on ripening of the other six species that follow the biblical calendar. All seven has their place in the Biblical calendar.

This is my life and journey of following the biblical calendar and the Torah from the land the Law was given from and for. You are welcome to share in my journey, my life really. As I live the Torah from the land it was written about. You are welcome to gather the facts I present and apply the data to your personal conviction about how to keep the biblical calendar correctly and use it to worship the Father and the Son.

What is not welcome on this page is a theological debate. If you keep another calendar then the one I observe you are not free to turn in into a debate or a correction for me or anyone else. It’s not necessary to comment why you do something different with the calendar.

If you ask me a question I will try to answer you with scriptures.

2 Cor 5:20 “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

Just as Christ was an ambassador (one who speaks for) our heavenly Father and only said the things He heard from his Father (John 5.19). It’s a fearful task to be called to our position of ambassadors by One who sees all and hears all and will judge accordingly.

Also not allowed are links to websites that sell things.

“Mat 10.8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”

It’s by the Law made flesh that these things are manifest, secret knowledge and revelation belongs to Yah and not to be sold

1 Cor 2.10 “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

Mostly I keep the comments turned off because people forget what I have asked them not to do, or they simply don’t care. If you have a question or a comment I do approve those posts. I want this to be a safe place of respectful discourse even if you don’t agree with me or I with you.Updated Mar 21, 2020, 9:59 AM
