Not only is Ghouta Eastern Damascus this is the region (east of Damascus) that Abraham chased the kings of the east to in order to redeem Lot and his possessions. Lot of interesting biblical history associated with this region. It is being destroyed and its destruction is all Arab social media is talking about right nowUpdated Feb 25, 2018, 4:24 PM

I’m changing up the format to the group a bit.

1) Because I am sharing some aspects of my personal life I will be changing the group to a ‘secret’ setting for my own protection. At first, I thought to change the group as ‘closed’, but with this setting, it can be located by the general Facebook public and names can be read. On the posts about the aspect of my personal life, the comments will be turned off.

2) Posts on news articles will be open for comment. As always you are welcome to post a scripture to the article, express joy or disappointment. My goal will still be that theological debates do not ensue so that I must spend hours reading through threads.

2a) if you don’t agree with someone’s scripture or comments please feel free to send them a friend’s request and take the debate to their PM or Facebook page. If you post things that I don’t think apply (as in ‘kill all the Muslims’) OR any threads that ensue/ verges /tempts debate I will hide the comments and not delete them. Why hid? Because deleted posts have been reposted when the person posting believes they made a posting mistake. Hidden posts can be seen by the person who posted it but the rest of the group cannot see it. It makes my life easier.

3) Please DO post question if you want a scriptural reason for the manner in which I honor the calendar, feasts, or sabbath. Maybe I will create a file with these question for the group, idk, that takes some time I don’t feel I currently have to give 🙂 If you have a curiosity about my general life, ask a question, that’s ok.

4) You are welcome to share all news articles that I post, however with the secret setting you will need to click on the link and share it from the original source. With a private setting on the group, you will not be able to click a share button

5) You are welcome to share my comments on the news, this need to be achieved by a copy and paste from your computer.

6) You are welcome to add members or send members to the group, they will continue to be approved.

7) You are welcome to share a link from my website but again will need to share it from the website and not this group due to the secret setting I will be maintaining for a while.

If you share these things above PLEASE do not link my name (as in @-Becca-Biderman) to any of your posts OTHER THAN the news, yes, you can link me to the news. I do NOT need credit for my words, truly. Feel free to use quotation marks to indicate you are not posting your own words as you may have noticed is my manner when I don’t supply the source; if such a thing bothers you.

Why am I doing this? Social media has a long life and long tentacle. Since we are planning to relocate to an Orthodox community I need to protect myself from the supposition that I am on a mission to convert them, the quickest way to be an outcast in an Orthodox community is to be dubbed a missionary. I need to be who I am by my actions and love first; then by my words and beliefs when asked.

I can’t tell you how long I will be on ‘lockdown’ but it will surely be a while, even years.Updated Feb 24, 2018, 5:00 PMPublished on Feb 24, 2018, 5:00 PM

Feb 24, 2018, 8:48 AM – Becca Biderman created a poll in In search of His ancient and true path …from cover to cover.

Poll: Many hands make light work:
Do you enjoy researching history?
I’m looking for people that love researching the history of Israel from original-source-documents such as the Bible and from a bit later documents such are the Mishnah and Talmud to track the changes that came about in the Law of Elohim. I use these latter references for historical purposes ONLY.
I’m on a quest to prove or disprove some shifts in history as it applies to believers who keep the commandments. If you are interested in being part of the research indicate it on the poll.
I would be giving credit to the researcher for any information I use.
I’ve never tried this before, let’s see what happens.
Todah I have a copy of one of the Mishnah seferim and I am willing to research I have a copy of one of the Tamud seferim and I am willing to research I am willing to travel to the library and research I am willing to research on the internet in such locations as archive(dot)orgUpdated Feb 24, 2018, 5:00 PMPublished on Feb 24, 2018, 5:00 PM

The interesting thing about the date chosen to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on not only the 70 anniversary of the independence of Jerusalem but it what the Arabs call Nabka (Day of the Catastrophe) an annual day of commemoration of the displacement that preceded and followed the Israeli Declaration of Independence in 1948.

Do you think this will be enough to bring rockets out of Israel and possible Syria? Turkey is in Syria, Erdogan is leading the Islam charge for the liberation of Jerusalem. Iran doesn’t really NEED a reason but will take the bait for whatever becomes available.

One thing that might slow rocket events from Gaza is today’s report that PA Abbas is receiving treatment in the US at John’s Hopkins Medical Center.Updated Feb 25, 2018, 1:26 AMPublished on Feb 24, 2018, 5:00 PM

We located an area that we are interested to live in when our lease is complete at our current location. There are already few yurts erected in the community. It is a farming community. There is a lot of orthodox Jews of different persuasions i.e. some of the women wear wigs, others wear scarfs, some dress in blank and white. However, these group of people seems very welcoming. There are people who are not religious living there too but are the minority.

We visited with an Israeli born Yemenite Jew in his yurt, even with my modest slacks and uncovered head he invited us inside and made coffee. This has not always been our experience in the city, but the farm people seem to be very different. Anyway, he encouraged us to seek land in this particular Moshav.

There is a growing green movement in this community. They are interested in ditching the pesticides. And the community really takes care of each other. If you know anything about the Orthodox in Israel, they are usually the bottom of the income scale, many live below the poverty level. And this one seems to be a poor community. So they are very supportive of the people in their community. The types of things we have learned about this area is:

1) there’s a program in place that purchases bread and gives it for free at the local grocery store. It’s freely given to those who have money as well as those who have no money so that those who have no money will not feel embarrassed.

2) There are two large organic gardens planted for the community to glean from. We picked some of the most beautiful and most tasty produce I have had in Israel. Very much like the richly tasty vegetables we were able to buy when we lived in Central America.

3) The farmers in this moshav donate their less than perfect produce to the community. It’s taken to a central location and the community takes what they can use. Two years ago I picked up almonds from the ground after the harvest was over in this Moshav.

4) There are two springs on the moshav so there is a possibility that a well can be dug.

I gotta say, it’s has an Act 4:32 ‘all things in common’ feel to it. They just need to know their Messiah.

Please keep us in prayer as we begin our search for a piece of land to rent. Elohim knows the particulars of what we need and where He wants us; He has the means and the way.Updated Feb 25, 2018, 2:46 AM
