The question has arose concerning what I am doing about the calendar. Am I starting the month last night with only one sighting and no photo?

In this instance I am. I trust Roy explicitly. I find him to be a man of honor and integrity. I wish I could divulge to you the hows, the whens and the whys but I won’t cause him the grief it would bring on him. He has dealt with me in a most unbiased fair manner.

Last night was my Chodesh haAviv yom echad. Month of the Aviv day one.Updated Mar 19, 2018, 5:49 AM

Technically Ma’ale Adummim is Jerusalem for those of you who need a new moon to be seen in Jerusalem to start a month.

“I saw the Moon with great difficulty this evening (Sunday 18th March 2018) from Mitspe Nevo, Ma’ale Adummim, Israel. The sky was cloudy and hazy but a small patch opened up and at 18:11 I saw it with binoculars (25 x 100 mm) then at 18:12 with the naked eye. It disappeared within a minute and I could not get a photograph. T 20°C, P 959 mBar, RH 30%.”

I WANT to make a statement of clarity. I accompanied Brian Covery on previous Aviv barley searches.

1) I do not speak for him or his beliefs
2) I am not or have not ever been a spokes person for them.
3) My beliefs are the FILTER that I understand the process of Aviv barley through that is why I share them with you. Everyone has filters and filters affect the way we perceive things.Updated Mar 17, 2018, 6:41 PM
