Security Update from the Tzfat Municipality:
“Dear residents,
We are all aware of the growing tensions in the north in recent days. Despite the fact that there are no exceptional instructions, the Safed Municipality is in constant contact with security officials, and in recent days has issued emergency procedures and work plans for emergencies. In any case, it would be appropriate for you to prepare for a potential security deterioration. By taking a few simple steps, you will be able to be more prepared for an emergency in a few simple steps:
“You know what you need:
Most of you have encountered emergency situations and remember the Second Lebanon War well. Think about what you missed then at your fingertips. Tend to whatever was lacking.
“Family conversation:
Children may be susceptible to sudden changes. Calmly explain the current security tensions with your family members, so that they will not be frightened in the case of any abrupt deterioration in the situation.
“Tell your family where the protected area closest to you is located.
“Shared Shelters:
– Ensure that access to the shelter and emergency exit routes are accessible and free from obstacles.

“Provisions:
In any situation and certainly in these more tense days we should have a little more at home. A little more canned food, mineral water, snacks and medicines are needed. On the road it is best to have a flashlight / emergency light, and a backup battery for the mobile phone.
“We will continue to maintain contact via the municipal Facebook page, the #106 telephone line, the municipality website, the urban WhatsApp group, and through the media.”
(as I’ve noted before, smartphone users should download the English version of the Homefront Command app, and Red Alert siren app. A first aid kit and portable radio are also essential.
