The biblical months follow the seasons….the seasons do not follow the biblical months….the season are not set.

Me, standing in this year’s wild mustard and mallow in our olive orchard.

This is February 15th. I’ve seen mustard like this in March about two years ago. In both instances it was pre Aviv.

Hey Guys,

I could use some prayers for strength.

Our rainy season, of course, is the time when the Land is very busy bringing forth the greenery. Since this lasts for only about 4 months we chose not to invest in a push lawn mower as one like you could buy at Walmart would be around $500. (Most Israelis have artificial grass here and the market bears a lot of cost due to supply and demand on push mowers). Anyway, I’m currently maintaining about 1/4 acre with a weed eater and there’s another 1/4 of an acre where the olives are that I’ve not yet touched, so the mustard and other green plants are taller than me and it’s still raining as of this morning……snake season is coming up quickly….Palestinian vipers and scorpions…..need I say more? It really needs my attention SOON.

This is in addition to the repairs on the rental unit and daily household chores, so this almost 61-year old is feeling her limitations.

I know the green season will end abruptly, and that’s my saving grace, that’s when about 50% of my responsibilities will cease for about 8 months. It’s just that our jumping in point on this property is when all of the pieces needed attention at once.

My husband’s health only affords me very limited help inside of the house.

Additionally, you know that in about two more weeks, the last week of the lunar month, I’ll be hitting the road for barley inspections.

Yes, the end is in sight. Once the barley turns Aviv the Land will begin to die and I can exhale. But I’m feeling pretty ragged.

HOWEVER, it would be remiss if I didn’t say how grateful and fortunate I feel that the Father has brought me so far back to strength and ability after the heart attack 1.5 years ago. I am very grateful, very.

Thanks for remembering me and I’ll keep on plugging away here.Updated Feb 14, 2019, 7:16 AM

Folks we have returned to cold and rain again here in the north. This could be a game changer, as in a real slow down, in the progression of the seasons. We need to be seeing some heat and sunshine but instead we have several more days of rainy cool weather forecasted in the coming week. However, there are other regions in Israel that I will be watching to see how their temps and sunshine levels are doing. Barley could still be Aviv in one of the other zones if their temps and climate are right.

I suppose I come at it from a different angle than those traveling here for inspections. I figure why go out if the barley is going to be aviv in time here in the north. Now it’s time for me to keep a eye over all the other areas because the north has now become pretty iffy.Updated Feb 12, 2019, 8:43 PM
