While I was out of the house today I noticed that the anemones were starting to drop their petals, so I swung by and took a look at the flax. Although this is just the second year to follow the flax the plant is exactly where I’d expect it to be. As the anemones fade from the earth for the season the next major bloom is the flax flowers. Today I could clearly see buds beginning to form on the flax plant.

Sadly, one whole long hill where there had been so many blooms last year had been sprayed with a hormone disrupter (like Roundup) and those plants were turning brown. However, there were still many left untouched to watch for our season.Updated Mar 9, 2018, 2:06 PM
