I did some light barley inspecting yesterday. Everything I saw points to the season is right on time. Please don’t ask me yet for my final decision, it has not been made.
I met with a group of men who are well-read and studied on the calendar subject to double-check my scriptural platform, scriptural, not traditional. Remember, today, January 22, 2021, we are on the 9th day of the 12th month. In the past, the inspections have not been made until the last 7-10 days of the 12th month. By giving you any hint of the development on the land I am doing it early.
Edited: By Sunday our temperatures will start to climb into the 70s/20 with one of those days breaking into the 70s/22.
We are supposed to have a season of several days where the temperature returns to the 70s, about 15 days with no rain on the map, and then after that another round of cold rainy weather. All of this affects how quickly or how slowly the barley will finish maturing.
If you send me a text etc asking me ***when*** I think or guess the New Year will begin I will ignore your question. I’m waiting on the barley but I like what it’s saying.Updated Jan 24, 2021, 5:27 AM
